First a truck drove into a house...and then it got weird.

South Simcoe Police say they received a call early Saturday (jan 6) morning about a truck hitting a house in Bradford.

They found the truck, unoccupied, with some major damage to it's front end.

They also found footprints in the snow, heard screaming, and eventually came across a man inside the rear entrance of the home with a female attending to an injury on his leg.

He had a stab wound in his leg and, police believe, alcohol and drugs in his system.

The police says that the driver, a 25 year old Alliston man, thought if he stabbed himself in the leg and claimed someone had tried to steal his truck, he wouldn't be charged.

He is now facing several charges.

The accused was taken to hospital where he was treated for a non life threatening injury and released
