TRUCK SAFETY BLITZ IN BRADFORD

Plenty of trucks were taken out of service yesterday (May 24) by South Simcoe Police and OPP.
A Commercial Vehicle Safety Blitz at the parking lot of the Bob Fallis Arena in Bradford ended up with 20 out of 35 vehicles being taken out of service.

OPP Marine Units are hitting the water this week in support of Safe Boating Awareness Week which runs until the weekend.
There have been eight boating deaths on OPP patrolled waterways so far this year, which is almost three times as many as this time last year.

Starbucks's bandit is from Alliston.
Barrie Police arrested a 22 year old Alliston man after a Starbuck's in that city's south end was held up at knifepoint.
The incident happened Saturday night.

Firefighters get one thing taken off their plate
Simcoe County council passed a motion to update the Medical Aid Tiered Response Efficiency plan in regards to Long Term Care Homes.
It means fire departments will no longer be required for 9-1-1 medical calls from those facilities.

A thief?s efforts to steal firearms was thwarted.
South Simcoe Police were called to a home on the 25th Sideroad of Innisfil on Monday morning, when it was discovered that the house had been broken into over the weekend.

Honda cuts a rather large cheque this week.
The Alliston automaker made a donation of $10,000 to the Community Living Association for South Simcoe.
The 10 grand was earmarked for one the CLASS group homes.

Innisfil Council passed a motion asking the County for a $57 million loan.
The cash would be used so Innisfil can service it's employment lands along the 400.

STUNT & DRUNK DRIVING CHARGES LAID

One young man put a damper on his own weekend.
South Simcoe Police on Friday (may 20) say they pulled over a van on Yonge St in Innisfil doing more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.
That's stunt driving.
