6/8/2018 7:41:15 AM

Innisfil Council members received an update on the Annual Operating Plan for the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority.

According to Mike Walters, the CAO of the Conservation Authority, the goal is for the watershed to be healthier in 2041 than it is today.

He says they have 12 priorities they are working through this year including what goes into Lake Simcoe.

Walters says the salt that is causing damage to the watershed isn't just coming from the municipalities salt trucks..

Walters says they are working with the private sector to educate them on how much salt they really need and when they need to apply it.

He added the renovation of the Scanlon Creek Operations Centre in Bradford West Gwillimbury is also slated to be finished by 2019.
