The Nottawasga Valley Conservation Authority has upped their flood threat rating to moderate.

This coincides with Environment Canada's Special Weather Statement calling for potential ice storms for Saturday and Sunday

The NVCA says up to 85 mm of precipitation are forecast from today through Monday and flooding may occur in low-lying areas.

They are warning people to stay away from bodies of water as there is a high risk of life-threatening injury if a person fell into the extremely cold water

The weather office adds a major ice storm may result in widespread power outages and make travelling by car hazardous.
