BURGLARS CAUGHT BY SURPRISE

It's bad enough when people try to steal your stuff, but they may take it too far when they use your stuff to steal your stuff.

South Simcoe Police say a resident of a rural home on the 10 Sideroad, south of Highway 89 in Innisfil came home, they found an unwanted visitor in the backyard.

The would be intruder fled but witnesses told police they saw two suspects dressed all in black, jump into a dark grey Dodge Caravan and take off towards Highway 400.

It turned out the house had been broken into as the suspects used the homeowner's own ladder to get in through a second storey window.

It is not clear whether they actually got away with anything and police think they were scared off before they could pilfer any household items.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call South Simcoe Police Service or Crimestoppers.
