The Essa Fire Department and New Tecumseth Fire Rescue were called to a structure fire on County Road 21 Tuesday (feb 13) afternoon
21 was blocked off at County Road 10 to Scotch Line while firefighters battled the blaze.

New Tecumseth Council has donated 101 acres of forest land, just south of Beeton.
Councillor Marc Biss made the announcement at New Tecumseth Council this week.

A huge fire at Friday Harbour last night.
Innisfil Fire and Rescue were called to the blaze at around 8pm last night (feb 13)
The fire damaged a block of five unoccupied townhouses.
They were under construction at the time.

LOCAL JOBLESS RATE DROPS

The local unemployment rate improved last month.
Last week, we told you the national jobless rate increase from 5.8 to 5.9% in January.
Most of the losses were due to part-time jobs disappearing including 59,000 in Ontario.
